FULL PAPER GUIDELINES

Authors of accepted abstracts are invited to register at the conference for presentation of their contribution by April 10th, 2026.

In order to join the Conference with you presentation, the full paper submission is not mandatory.

In the case authors are willing to submit their full paper for being included in the NEXTBUILT 2026 Special Book with Springer Nature (no additional fees), this must be submitted via ConfTool by March 16th, 2026.

Please be aware that the full paper will undergo a review process by the Scientific Committee and the Editorial Team, to ensure it meets Springer’s standards.

Registration to present at the conference is mandatory and includes the full-paper publication opportunity (see REGISTRATION). In the case of an author having a second paper approved, the extra paper fee (150 €) must be corresponded at the registration stage.

A maximum of 2 papers per author is admitted.

PAPER GUIDELINES

- The paper must be edited in MS Word, using the template provided.

- The paper must have a maximum lenght of 10 pages (including abstract, acknowledgements and references).
  - Instructions must be followed strictly, as any layout corrections will delay the publishing process of the entire book. We aim to publish it online by the end of 2026, at the latest.

CHECKLIST

Please strictly follow the template MS Word (download it here). Further information is available at the Springer author guidelines.
In short:

Max 10 pages limit within the provided template.
Title: not capitalized (capitals only in the first word and words that would be capitalized in a normal sentence, such as country names, acronyms etc.); no full stop at the end.
Prepare two versions of your paper: upload an anonymous version in PDF (without authors’ names or affiliations) for the double-blind review process, and a regular version in .docx with all the authors’ information for submission.
References: if you use Mendeley or Zotero as Reference manager software, please look for the Citation style for Springer and use it.
Acknowledgements and Credit author statement: bear in mind your obligations to acknowledge the funding agency and consider detailing different co-authors’ contributions at the end of the paper, before the references.
Copyright materials: it is the authors’ responsibility to apply for and obtain permission to reproduce in electronic and print form any copyright materials to be included in the work.
File naming and submission: naming is unimportant as the submission system will take care of that. Please submit your paper in a PDF format; this file must be editable and not password-protected.
English: as papers will be published a book chapter of a Springer book, a good standard of English is essential. If English proofreading is requested by the reviewers, please use a professional service or a mother tongue.

CONDITIONS & LICENSE

By submitting a paper, authors implicitly agree with the Springer license agreement.

The publishers also reserve the right to reject a paper, even after acceptance by the NEXTBUILT 2026 Scientific Committee, if it does not meet their publishing license terms and conditions. Note that the paper must not have been published before (other than in a research thesis or dissertation, the fact of which has been notified to the conference organiser in writing).
